World Poetry Day falls on the same day as the first day of Spring, which just means we have now TWO more reasons to be happy!<\/p>

First day of Spring always puts a smile on our faces because we know that amazing weather is awaiting and we'll spend more time outdoors, which is one thing we've all earned after the year we've had, and we can't wait to start showing off our amazing organic cotton Tote Bags!<\/a><\/p>

As we've learned on UNESCO's website<\/a> World Poetry Day was established \"with the aim of supporting linguistic diversity through poetic expression and increasing the opportunity for endangered languages to be heard.\"<\/p>

In that honour, we'd like to share with you a snippet of a poem in Asturleonese language. This romance language is spoken primarily in northwestern Spain, namely in historical regions and Spain's modern-day autonomous communities of Asturias, northwestern Castile and Le\u00f3n and Cantabria.<\/p>

The poem is written by D. Daniel Albuerne (1879-1912) titled \"A\u00f1oranzes...\" , <\/em>english \"Yearnings\" <\/em>that talks about the cold winter and yearning for warmer days :<\/p>

\u00a1 Ay qu\u00e9 tristi ta Natura de\u00b4 l iviernu nos rigores ! \u00a1 Ay qu\u00e9 tristi ta isi cielu, siempri nublu, siempri gris ! \u00a1 Ay que tristis tan les veigues en sin p\u00e1xaros nin flores ! \u00a1 Ay qu\u00e9 tristi, Virxen m\u00eda Ta isi cerru\u2026 y isi monte\u2026 y isa llun\u2019 ateric\u00eda !\u2026 \u00a1 Ay qu\u00e9 ascures tan les nuichis !.. \u00a1 ay qu\u00e9 tristis son los dis !<\/p><\/blockquote>

Our translation:<\/p>

Oh how sad is the Nature in the rigorous winter! Oh how sad is this sky, always cloudy, always gray! Oh how sad the view is without birds and flowers!
